Finial in form of the adonred Buddha protected by NagaCompare
This final is in the form of Buddha protected by a Naga which were made in separated parts and then assembled. Such techniques in the production of bronze objects were common in the Angkorian period. The Buddha meditates with an object in his hand and seated on a throne is protected by a seven-headed Naga. He is mounted on a long pole adorned with a Kala along the bottom edge. This work of art shows great skill, and sophisticated production techniques of bronze objects made during the Angkor period.
