Durga is a goddess of Brahmanism who is popular in ancient Khmer art. Many images are found as sculpture in-the-round of Durga standing on the head of a buffalo, representing the demon she slayed. The dimensions of this statue are little different from others in this style as most are small in scale. This figure wears a sampot that is typical of the Prei Khmeng style.
