The National Art Gallery is the home and caretaker of the Malaysia’s government Visual Art Collection and Conservation Centre for the government visual art collection. It is a government statutory body in charge of the documentation, preservation, conservation, education and enhancement of the Malaysian Visual Art development under the supervision of the National Visual Arts Development Board placed under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Malaysia. Established since 1958, The National Art Gallery houses 8 main gallery spaces that held various annual visual art programs consisting of collection, conservation, exhibitions, forums, talks and workshop alongside the publication of art related research, whilst serving as an archive and resource centre for researchers in regards to the visual art scene.
