The Department of Museums Malaysia is responsible for preserving, conserving and disseminating knowledge on the country’s historical, cultural and natural heritage. This is in order to create awareness on the country’s rich heritage of history, multiracial cultures and natural environment. There are 22 museums under the administration of Department of Museums Malaysia including National Museum which established in 1963. Other museums such as Malay World Ethology Museum, National Textile Museum and Orang Asli Crafts Museum are served as information and cultural centres, offering comprehensive and substantial collections of cultural treasures.
